Checklist moving with children

1. Communication

Talk to your children about the move and explain why you are moving.

Answer their questions and listen to their concerns.

Let your kids help pack their things.

3. Visit the new hometown

Take your children to the new place of residence before you actually move.

Find a new general practitioner, dentist and other healthcare providers in your new municipality.

Ask your current healthcare providers to transfer your medical data to new healthcare providers if necessary.

5. Medical Care

Request your children's medical records and prescriptions from their current healthcare providers.

Find new healthcare providers in the new place of residence and arrange the transfer of medical data.

6. Pack the children's belongings separately

Separate your children's personal belongings and label them clearly.

Make sure their favorite toys, stuffed animals and other comfort items are easily accessible during the move.

7. Change of Address

Report the change of address to the school, childcare, general practitioner and other relevant authorities.

Inform friends, relatives and important contacts about the new address.

8. Furnish the new room

Get your kids involved furnishing their new one room.

Let them choose the layout, colors and decorations.
