George was the former owner of the second-hand furniture store Waterlooplein in IJmuiden, which offered a unique moving service at the time: the transport of one or more pieces of furniture with a van.
In 1998, his son Sige Bart also became active in the company. The collaboration between father and son, and the unique formula, turned out to be very successful. As demand for Small Removals continued to rise, they also invested in the ability to provide full removals.
In 2000, the van was joined by a moving van with a loading capacity of approximately 20 cubic meters.
In order to cope with the increasing number of removals, Mark Wittebrood, a cousin of George and Sige, and good family friend Peter Korpershoek became co-owner of De Kleine Verhuizer in 2007.
