The 118-year history of Middelkoop Beverwijk begins on April 1, 1904. Jan Middelkoop starts as a carrier from his house on Koningstraat in Beverwijk. That is still done by horse and cart. From Haarlem to Alkmaar, Middelkoop delivers loads ranging from wonderfully smelling flower bulbs and gladioli to smelly skins from the slaughterhouse.
