Iwema Bouw specializes in historical and traditional construction.
Our company is located on the corner of Grote Sloot and Burgerweg in Burgerbrug. In a beautiful bell jar with original squares, which looks optically old but is actually ultra-modern. The building serves as a calling card on the outside and as a showroom on the inside. I have a preference and passion for traditional materials and love buildings with a classic look. In that respect, I was able to indulge myself in our current building. A few years ago I bought this farm from 1797 in a completely neglected state, demolished it to the ground and rebuilt it with the original chipped stones, so that the ghost could move in again. This concerns the provincial monument "Starre Kroon". In a project like this I can use all my experience with light and spaces. Contemporary techniques have also been incorporated. The whole is on piles with a PS combination floor, porothermal stone interior walls with rock wool insulation. Half-brick exterior walls, masonry (cross bond) with cutting joint. Floors of wooden beams and wide parts. A geothermal installation for heating. Insulating plates under the reeds. Over the years this has become a real specialty.
