As a passionate pigeon keeper, I started forming a new racing team this year. Although I don't have any standard bearers yet, the group is ready to show next season whether the combination of loft, pigeon and care is correct. I have a few young pigeons that stand out based on health, behavior, character and results on young pigeon flights.
My pigeons have been raced in a nest for many years, which allows me to participate in the competitions with a maximum number of pigeons. The young pigeons are brought away and trained 2 or 3 times, after which the selection follows. In the autumn I house about 80 pigeons in my lofts.
I connect the breeders at the end of March, so that I can give the most attention to the old pigeons before the youngsters come out for the first time. The older racing and ZLU pigeons are coupled in the second half of April. The couples are put together based on the upcoming flights.
I plan to start this year with a cautious participation in the ZLU flights. My goal is to create a division in the breeding loft, with pigeons from different top breeders for the morning and afternoon releases.
