Thomas grew up on a farm and has always been active in nature. Since I was 16, I have been renovating and maintaining existing gardens. My career started at the municipality of 'het Bildt'. I then worked for a few years at a landscaping company in Grou and at several landscaping companies in Friesland. Passed the Diploma for Self-employed Professional Klein Groen in Leeuwarden in 1996.
